Derek J. Murphy is a writer, a pastor, a speaker, and creative strategist with a heart for people and a passion for purpose. Through his writing, teaching, and leadership, Derek helps individuals navigate life, faith, and identity with clarity and conviction.

Derek’s story began in the church, where he grew from a young musician into a community leader, recognized early on for his impact on youth and service. His love for writing grew alongside his ministry, eventually becoming a powerful tool for building up others and telling stories that matter. A gifted communicator, Derek’s messages are marked by clarity, humor, and a deep commitment to empowering others.

Today, he serves as Lead Pastor of Rose Hill Church of God in Christ, owner of Derek J. Murphy Enterprises, and a campus administrator in the field of education. He continues to mentor, preach, and write—always to encourage, challenge, and inspire the people around him.

When he’s not working, Derek enjoys time with his wife Angela (his high school sweetheart), their three children, and their lovable dog. Together, they are #TeamMurphy—passionate about faith, family, and making a lasting impact through building people.
